Anthropologie (Inspired) + BLING!!!

I have a confession to make...I LOVE anything shiny, sparkly, glittery, or blingin'!!!  Funny story...My fiance once called me a large mouth bass, and I had NO idea what he meant by that and was kinda offended! He then explained to me that large mouth bass are attracted to shiny things too...who knew?!? I've heard that ferrets like shiny things, but apparently so do some fish. ANYWAYS, back to my blingin' projects....

For graduation, my friends and I "bedazzled" the tops of our caps, and I have been bedazzling things ever since....wooden letters, vases, pillows, and even a headboard!!!  Pics of that to come later :)

Graduation cap- It was easy to pick me out of the crowd :)

My most recent bling project was inspired  by Anthropologie's Live Love pillow I saw here.

However, I can't buy a $68 pillow so I decided to make my own version...plus a little sparkle of course! I just used some printed fabric I had bought a while back for a different project but then changed my mind about (I do that A LOT so I'm glad I actually used a little of it) and sewed up a little pillow.

I cut out card stock stencil letters using my Cricut, positioned them where I wanted them, and used painter's tape to hold them in place.Since I had already sewn my pillow, I put wax paper between the two pieces of fabric so the glue wouldn't soak through.  Then I started bedazzling!!! I bought my pound of rhinestones and a bottle Jewel-It glue at Hobby Lobby (with 40% coupons of course). Before the coupon, the glue was $3.99 and the rhinestones were $15.99 (and they go a LONG way so don't buy more than one pound unless you plan on doing A LOT of blingin').  I simply filled in all the stencils with rhinestones, removed stencils, stuffed pillow, and TA DA!!! I had an Anthropologie inspired pillow modified to match my living room colors and satisfy my NEED for bling.

In hindsight, I would have used a darker color fabric for my pillows so the letters would really stand out AND I would have cut my stencils out of wax paper  because some of the paper stuck to the fabric in spots and I had to pick it off with tweezers (DUH!!! Not sure why I didn't think of that before!).

Here's a pic of my baby....Ava Claire! She really likes bling too...Check out her collar :)
